Congress criticizes soaring inflation and tax hikes as dual burden

The Congress party has strongly criticized the government, alleging that people across the country are facing a “double attack” due to skyrocketing inflation and rising taxes. Party leaders have accused the administration of failing to control rising prices while simultaneously imposing increased tax burdens on citizens.

Senior Congress leaders highlighted that the soaring cost of essential commodities, including food and fuel, has placed tremendous financial strain on households. They argued that instead of offering relief measures, the government has raised tax rates, further worsening the economic hardship faced by the public.

Congress spokespersons called the situation a “direct assault” on middle-class and lower-income families, stating that the rising cost of living has made basic necessities unaffordable for many. They emphasized that small businesses are also struggling as tax hikes add to operational expenses, forcing many to cut jobs or shut down.

In response, government officials have defended their policies, stating that tax adjustments are necessary for economic stability and that inflation control measures are already in place. The ruling party has dismissed Congress’s allegations as political rhetoric, arguing that global economic trends also play a role in inflation.

The issue is expected to remain a heated topic in political debates, with opposition leaders continuing to press for immediate financial relief measures and policy changes to ease the burden on the public. Further discussions on the matter are likely in upcoming parliamentary sessions.
