Chhattisgarh man bludgeons mother to death, injures wife over Rs 200 dispute

A 45-year-old man asked his mother for Rs 200 to buy a dog. When she refused, he attacked her with a hammer and killed her. His wife was injured when she tried to intervene.

A dispute over Rs 200 to buy a pet dog escalated so much that a man bludgeoned his mother to death and left his wife critically injured.

The incident took place in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur when the accused, identified as 45-year-old Pradeep Dewangan, asked his 70-year-old mother Ganesh Devi to give him Rs 200 to buy a pet dog, which she refused.

Following this, an argument ensued and in a fit of rage, Pradeep hit his mother with a hammer. He also attacked his 35-year-old wife Rameshwari when she tried to intervene, police said.
