BJP’s Sushil Modi is Fighting Cancer, Won’t Run in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections

Sushil Kumar Modi, the leader of the BJP and a former deputy chief minister of Bihar, said today that he has been fighting cancer for the last six months. Mr. Modi went on to say he will not be standing for office in the next Lok Sabha elections. Widespread rumors were aroused when Mr. Modi’s name was left off of the BJP’s list of candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections in February. Mr. Modi, 72, was formerly regarded as a party mainstay and possessed considerable power over the BJP in Bihar for almost thirty years. “Over the past six months, I have been fighting cancer. I think it’s finally time to tell people. I will be unable to participate in the Lok Sabha elections in any way. I’ve shared all of this with.

I was deeply upset to learn of Sushil Modi’s medical condition. Sushil is a member of the trio that emerged from the 1974 Bihar revolution, together with Lalu Yadav, Nitish Kumar, and Sushil Modi. These three people currently hold leadership positions in both the opposition and the ruling party. Sushil Modi, Nitish Kumar, and Lalu Yadav all came out of the same movement and overthrew the previous generation of Bihar politicians over time. These three have controlled Bihar politics for about thirty years,” stated Mr. Tiwari, an 81-year-old former leader of the JDU and RJD. “I shared a cell with Sushil at the Bankipur jail for about three months. Significant ideological divides have existed between.

But I still have a loving relationship with him in spite of everything. We’re hoping that despite his illness, he will maintain his strong will. He has our deepest sympathies and prayers,” he continued. After around 11 years of serving as JDU chief and Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar’s deputy, Mr. Modi has a long-standing friendship with him. The BJP has included him in its 27-member Election Manifesto Committee, which is led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, despite his health setback. Union Minister Piyush Goyal and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be the convenor and co-convenor, respectively.
