BJP State President Anil Kumar Tiwari recently completed his first extensive organisational tour across the North & Middle Andaman District, spanning from July 22 to July 26. The visit marked a critical moment in energizing local party units and reaffirming the BJP’s grassroots strategy in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Tiwari visited several mandals and remote regions including Diglipur, Mayabunder, Rangat, Kadamtala, and Baratang, connecting directly with BJP karyakartas and local leaders. His presence drew significant support, with crowds welcoming him at every stop. Notably, the tour saw members from other parties voluntarily joining the BJP, citing renewed trust in its regional leadership.
During the interactions, Tiwari emphasized unity, discipline, and booth-level mobilisation as key to future electoral success. He also committed to a development-first agenda, pledging collaboration with local MP Bishnu Pada Ray on infrastructure, connectivity, and inclusive growth initiatives. Paying tribute to past leaders like Late Linga Velu and Late R. Mohan, he acknowledged their foundational contributions to the party’s growth in the region.
In a move to bolster the party’s national representation, the BJP announced the appointment of three National Council Members from the Islands—Bishnu Pada Ray, Ajay Bairagi, and Vishal Jolly—an expansion from the previous single-member representation. The tour concluded with a symbolic closing ceremony in Baratang, with Tiwari reaffirming the BJP’s commitment to reaching every corner of the Islands with its development agenda and ideological message.
