The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Andaman and Nicobar Islands, observed World Environment Day with a series of tree plantation and awareness drives held across multiple locations on June 5. The initiative was led by Mrs. Sheela Singh, State Incharge and State Vice President of BJP A&N Islands, alongside Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, State Vice President.
This year’s theme focused on environmental awareness and sustainability, drawing enthusiastic participation from BJP karyakartas across the Islands. Volunteers actively engaged in planting trees and educating communities on the importance of preserving the region’s fragile ecosystem.
Addressing the gatherings, Mrs. Sheela Singh emphasized the collective responsibility of safeguarding nature and highlighted the unique biodiversity of the Islands. Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh praised the volunteers for their dedication, encouraging citizens to adopt eco-friendly habits in everyday life.
