Uming La Pass is a great place for any rider. The Pass is the world’s highest paved road and mountain pass, located in Ladakh, India. Vigin Francis, a rider from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, had an ambition of riding his bike across the country to the highest roadway and mountain pass, the Uming La Pass. The concept did not come out of nowhere; Vigin had been working on it for years, with several failed efforts before succeeding.
Vigin Francis, originally from Kerala, has lived in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands for many years. He is a competent interior designer who also specializes in ornamental fish. He has organized several training courses for the Islands’ aspiring entrepreneurs in the field of ornamental fishes through the Fisheries Department.
During his dream journey, Vigin visited states such as Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and a few others, covering around 12500 km on a motorbike in just a period of 36 days.
