Bengal Assembly Condemns Suvendu Adhikari’s Remarks on TMC MLAs with Resolution

The West Bengal Assembly recently passed a resolution condemning BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari for his controversial remarks about Muslim MLAs from the Trinamool Congress (TMC). The resolution was introduced by TMC chief whip Nirmal Ghosh after BJP members staged a walkout, protesting the Speaker’s refusal to allow a discussion on their motion.
Adhikari had reportedly stated that Muslim TMC MLAs would be “thrown out” of the assembly if the BJP came to power. This comment sparked outrage, with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accusing the BJP of promoting divisive politics and “fake Hinduism” in the state.
The resolution, passed by voice vote, claimed that Adhikari’s remarks attacked the religious and social fabric of the country. This incident highlights the ongoing political tensions in West Bengal, with both ruling and opposition parties clashing over sensitive issues.
