Sri Vijaya Puram, August 7, 2025 — An orientation-cum-awareness program under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) was successfully conducted for students and frontline healthcare workers in Sri Vijaya Puram. Organized by the Project Management Unit of ABDM, the initiative aimed to enhance digital health literacy and promote the adoption of digital health tools among the local population.
The program was held at the Government Girls Senior Secondary School, targeting students as well as Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) and Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) affiliated with Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and Urban Health Centres (UHCs) in the region. Participants were introduced to the core components of ABDM, including:
- Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA): A unique digital health ID enabling individuals to securely access and manage their health records.
- Health Facility Registry (HFR): A centralized database of verified health facilities across India, supporting services like e-hospital records and teleconsultations.
- Healthcare Professionals Registry (HPR): A digital registry of licensed medical professionals, detailing their qualifications and practice locations.
Officials emphasized the importance of digital health in improving healthcare delivery, transparency, and accessibility. The session also included demonstrations on how to create ABHA IDs and integrate digital health tools into routine healthcare practices.
The awareness drive is part of a broader effort by the National Health Authority (NHA) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to promote citizen engagement and digital transformation in healthcare across the Union Territory.
