Awareness Programme on Women’s Schemes, Laws and Cyber Safety Conducted at Tagore College

An awareness programme focusing on women’s welfare schemes, legal rights, and cyber safety was recently organized at Tagore College. The initiative aimed to educate students and community members about government-supported schemes available to women, the importance of understanding legal protections, and the growing need for vigilance in the digital space.

The session featured expert speakers who highlighted key provisions under women-centric laws, including safeguards against domestic violence, workplace harassment, and cybercrime. Practical guidance was also provided on how women can access welfare schemes related to education, healthcare, and financial empowerment.

Cyber safety formed a major part of the discussion, with specialists explaining common online threats such as phishing, identity theft, and cyberbullying. Participants were encouraged to adopt safe digital practices and report suspicious activities to appropriate authorities.

Faculty members and student representatives at Tagore College emphasized that such programmes play a crucial role in building awareness and confidence among young women, enabling them to make informed decisions and protect themselves in both physical and digital environments.

The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where attendees shared concerns and received clarifications on practical issues related to women’s rights and online safety.
