On 27th of June, a violent thunderstorm with powerful winds (30-40 kmph) and lightning is likely to strike one or two areas in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
High waves with periods ranging from 16.0 to 19.0 seconds and heights of 1.7 to 1.9 metres have been projected till 20:30 on June 28, 2025. There is a risk of surging waves, therefore boats should proceed with extreme caution, according to a news statement from the Directorate of Disaster Management.
