APWD chief called for repairing the road between Dhanikhari and Monglutan Junction

The chief engineer of the Andaman Public Works Department (APWD) has been publicly urged by Mr. Rangalal Halder, president of the Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee, to hasten the maintenance and repair of the 3-kilometer rural road that connects Dhanikhari and Manglutan Junction. Even though the tender was put out more than a year and a half ago, Mr. Halder wrote that he was extremely concerned about the protracted delay in starting the necessary roadwork. The road, which is vital to the community, has gotten much worse, making it extremely difficult for commuters and the movement of cargo, especially in bad weather.

“This road is vital for the daily movement of people and essential services in the area,” said Halder. “The current state of disrepair has made travel difficult and has further hampered the transportation of essential goods, adversely affecting the livelihoods of the local population.” In order to start much-needed maintenance and repairs, he asked the Chief Engineer to act quickly. “Timely intervention will greatly alleviate the hardships faced by the community and contribute to the overall development of the area,” he stated.
