On August 22, 2025, shares of Apollo Hospitals were offloaded through a block deal valued at ₹1,489 crore, according to exchange data. Around 19 lakh shares changed hands at a floor price of ₹7,850 per share, representing nearly a 1% discount to the previous day’s closing price. Following the transaction, Apollo Hospitals’ stock was down 0.5% in early trading on Friday.
According to a report by CNBC-TV18, Managing Director Suneeta Reddy is expected to sell up to a 1.25% stake in the company, estimated to be worth ₹1,395 crore. As of June 30, Reddy held a 3.36% ownership stake in Apollo Hospitals, based on stock exchange filings. Neither Apollo Hospitals nor Suneeta Reddy responded to Reuters’ requests for comments regarding the sale.
The block deal suggests a significant equity reshuffle at the healthcare giant, with potential implications for the company’s ownership structure, especially amid heightened investor attention on promoter holdings.
