Andaman & Nicobar Police Launch ‘Third Eye’ Initiative to Tackle Traffic Violations

In a bid to enhance road discipline and encourage public participation, the Andaman and Nicobar Traffic Police has launched a renewed awareness drive for its citizen-led initiative, the ‘Third Eye’ Scheme. The program urges residents to become active participants in traffic enforcement by reporting violations via social media.
To raise awareness, authorities have begun placing ‘Third Eye’ campaign stickers on autorickshaws, commercial vehicles, and in key public areas across the city. The initiative empowers citizens to report instances like helmet-less riding or reckless driving by sharing photos or videos through WhatsApp on 9531892228, or by tagging the official accounts of the Andaman and Nicobar Traffic Police on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter).
In a recent post on X, the department emphasized:
“Spreading Awareness on Third Eye Scheme! Motorists and the general public were sensitized through meetings, banners & stickers about the Third Eye Scheme — an initiative to report traffic violations by sharing photos/videos via WhatsApp & Twitter.”
The ‘Third Eye’ campaign positions the public as vigilant partners in road safety, aiming to reduce accidents and instill a stronger sense of accountability among commuters across the Union Territory.
