Andaman & Nicobar Administration Invites Applications for ₹25,000 Grant-in-Aid to Cultural Organizations

Port Blair, July 19, 2025 — The Department of Art & Culture, Andaman and Nicobar Administration, has announced the opening of applications for Grant-in-Aid (GIA) to registered cultural organizations across the islands for the financial year 2025–26.

Under the provisions of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Rules for Grant-in-Aid to Local Cultural Organizations (dated September 3, 2018), eligible organizations will receive financial assistance of ₹25,000 each. The initiative aims to support groups actively promoting art and culture, national integration, and communal harmony.

To qualify, organizations must:

  • Be registered and have a functional office in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
  • Be operational for at least one year in relevant cultural activities.
  • Submit applications in the prescribed format, along with supporting documents including audited financial statements, activity reports, and PFMS registration details.

The application form can be downloaded from the official Andaman government portal or collected directly from the Directorate of Art & Culture, located at the Cellular Jail Complex, Port Blair. Completed applications must be submitted to the Director, Art & Culture Department, by August 20, 2025.

This grant continues the administration’s commitment to nurturing local cultural heritage and empowering grassroots organizations to contribute meaningfully to the islands’ socio-cultural landscape.
