A&N Islands Participate in 44th India International Trade Fair in New Delhi

The 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) opened on 14th November 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, showcasing the theme “Ek Bharat: Shreshtha Bharat” and celebrating the nation’s unity, cultural diversity, and development. The fair, which runs from November 14 to 27, features participation from several States and Union Territories, including a prominent presence from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The Islands have made a significant impression this year with a dedicated pavilion highlighting their rich cultural heritage, ecological wealth, and investment potential. The Andaman & Nicobar Pavilion was inaugurated today by Admiral D.K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of the A&N Islands and Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency, in the presence of Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Tourism) Ms. Chanchal Yadav, IAS, and senior officers of the A&N Administration.

Beautifully designed with traditional art and thematic displays, the pavilion offers visitors a window into the archipelago’s unique identity—from its vibrant tribal and cultural traditions to its thriving tourism, fisheries, and handicraft sectors. One of the biggest draws is the Immersive Reality Zone, which offers a first-of-its-kind virtual tour of the Islands. Using advanced simulation technology, visitors can experience the region’s famed white-sand beaches, scuba-diving sites, and diverse marine ecosystems. The realistic digital journey has quickly become a crowd favourite, providing a glimpse of the Islands’ adventure tourism potential.

Adding flavour and authenticity, the Dweep Sugandh stall set up by the Agriculture Department features GI-tagged and organic products native to the Islands, showcasing traditional farming practices. The Industries Department is presenting exquisite Padauk woodcrafts, reflecting the craftsmanship and artistic heritage of local artisans.
