A&N Islands KVIB Launches Diverse Skill Development Training Programs for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

The Andaman & Nicobar Islands Khadi & Village Industries Board (A&NI KVIB), in collaboration with the Directorate of Industries, has announced a series of skill development training programs aimed at empowering local youth and promoting self-employment across the territory.

The initiative includes hands-on training in the following trades:

These programs are designed to equip participants with practical skills and entrepreneurial knowledge, enabling them to launch sustainable ventures under schemes like the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).

Eligible candidates aged 18 to 45 years are encouraged to apply by submitting a completed application form—available for download via the Andaman Administration’s website—to the KVIB office at Udyog Parisar, Middle Point, Port Blair. Applicants from outside South Andaman may approach their respective extension offices.

Selected trainees will receive a monthly stipend of ₹800, free hostel accommodation, and reimbursement of travel expenses. The training centers also offer access to libraries, indigenous machinery, and first-aid medical support.

The KVIB emphasized that successful candidates will be linked to financial assistance schemes post-training, facilitating the establishment of micro-enterprises in rural and semi-urban areas.
