Jalandhar Central Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Raman Arora has been arrested by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau in connection with a corruption case. Authorities allege that Arora was involved in extortion and fraudulent municipal notices, working alongside former assistant town planner Sukhdev Vashisht.
The arrest follows a raid at Arora’s residence, where officials uncovered evidence linking him to bribery and misuse of power. His security cover had been withdrawn earlier this month, raising speculation about impending action.
AAP leaders have emphasized their commitment to accountability, stating that no one is above the law, even within their own party. The investigation into Arora’s alleged misconduct is ongoing.
