AAP Criticizes BJP Over Delayed Rs 2,500 Monthly Aid to Women

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) recently staged a protest against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the delay in providing the promised Rs 2,500 monthly financial aid to women in Delhi. The protest was led by former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Atishi, along with AAP MLAs and party workers.

During the protest, Atishi questioned the BJP government on social media about the delay in implementing the scheme. She reminded the public that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had guaranteed that the first installment of Rs 2,500 would be credited to the accounts of all women in Delhi by March 8, International Women’s Day. Atishi expressed concern that the promise might turn out to be just another slogan.

AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar also criticized the BJP, asking Delhi’s newly appointed Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to clarify the status of the promised financial assistance2. He pointed out that the BJP had made this promise during the Delhi Assembly elections, surpassing AAP’s offer of Rs 2,100. The BJP had won 48 out of 70 seats in the elections, while AAP secured 22 seats.
