10 years of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ celebrated by ICDS Urban Project

The ICDS Urban Project, which is part of the Directorate of Social Welfare, A&N Administration, held a special school enrollment campaign for girls in honor of the tenth anniversary of the “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” (BBBP) program. The District Hub for Empowerment of Women organized the event, which took place at the Pentecostal Church, Dairy Farm, Fisheries Colony. In order to uphold every girl’s fundamental right to an education, the program sought to persuade parents to enroll their daughters in school.

The Government of India launched the BBBP plan with the goal of eradicating gender-based discrimination and guaranteeing girls equitable access to education, especially in underserved and rural areas. Ms. Zarina Bibi, Child Development Project Officer, ICDS Urban Project, spoke at the ceremony and underlined the value of girls’ education in creating a better future.

She urged parents to take advantage of government programs that assist female education and emphasized the difficulties that many young girls encounter as a result of societal and economic restrictions. The enrollment campaign was an important step in raising awareness of the value of education for females and demonstrating the A&N Administration’s dedication to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
